L’esperienza del progetto realizzato presso la Biblioteca nazionale di Potenza nell’ambito del dottorato nazionale in Heritage science
English abstract
This contribution aims to present and briefly describe a PCTO (Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e l’Orientamento - Pathways for Transversal Skills and Orientation) project carried out as part of applied research developed in the context of the national doctorate in Heritage Science. The project involved collaboration with the National Library of Potenza and the Da Vinci-Nitti Higher Education Institute in Potenza.
The students of a class at the Potenza institute were involved in creating original content using Storie, a library service based on the potential of the IIIF (International Image Interoperability Framework) protocol and available through the digital library of the National Library of Potenza, and the Potenza Library Centre. A distinctive feature of the applied research is the integration of the PCTO with a structured investigation that uses different methodologies and techniques to evaluate the service and the impact of the project.
In conclusion, some reflections are offered on the importance of digital libraries and digitised cultural heritage for teaching and learning, and on the relationship between libraries and schools for the shared development of PCTO.
