In Parma, a citizen association (Amici della Biblioteca San Leonardo aps) is promoting a grassroots movement to pursue the creation of a public Social-Cultural Center that could be not only an urban and social renewal factor, but also a community building actor, in a peripheral neighborhood of the town. The article tells the story of this project and presents its cultural roots and its purposes.
