Abstract

There is a tiger in the library and it is also a bit battered. We are in Kathmandu. In front of us is the stuffed specimen of a feline grinding his teeth. It belonged to Kaiser of the Rana Dynasty. Through him, we can nowadays enjoy the most fascinating Nepalese library, the Kaiser Library. As a result of a travel abroad to the Garden of dreams, amid the rubbles of the last earthquake and the unforeseeable circumstances yet to come of pandemia, this issue aims to lay the literary merits of the Nepalese reflective thinking in literature. For the time being, little is being done to translate their poems and tales. It is too little an effort to understand the most appreciated country of all by nature-loving hikers and gifted climbers. The content is the result of hard readings, interviews and a remote encounter with a fair library user, Rohit Nepali, a master’s student related to the Kaiser Library. In the hardness of Himalayan life, humility, grief and poetry shine through in literature. This is the cultural evidence this paper wants to pay tribute to.
