The seventh edition of In Archivio, entitled The Multiple Intelligences of Archives: Between People, Contents and Technologies, explored the plurality of forms of intelligence that shape archival work beyond Artificial Intelligence alone. Bringing together archivists, scholars, cultural professionals and institutional representatives, the conference examined the interpretive, relational and dynamic dimensions of archives as spaces where knowledge is continuously produced, mediated and transformed. Rather than opposing technological innovation, the contributions highlighted the need to understand Artificial Intelligence as one among many intelligences that interact within archival ecosystems. The discussions reaffirmed the archivist’s central role in interpreting contexts, preserving authenticity and ensuring that archives remain places of shared memory, critical knowledge and cultural responsibility in an increasingly automated world.
