Episodi situati fra arte, educazione e impegno civico

English abstract

The cultural commitment of a library can be also deployed through different learning pathways of informal education. A variety of expressions can be selected and facilitate the understanding of complex concepts. One of them is a form of political and social art and it can be summed up in “artivism”. In the article the author explores some options, that she herself has undertaken, in order to reflect on a new training design for the library audiences. The library, as-a-service and as a third space, becomes a hub for new ideas and experiences, where the arts and their aesthetic power can find unpredictable developments. Through collective and participatory artistic productions, expertly guided by specialists, it is possible to provide civic education, create new visions for a social change and try to make marginalized voices visible. The library can thus play an active part for the social justice.
