La “biblioteca sonora”

Abstract

The world of sounds with their resources, playback devices and communication channels is an opportunity for activities of dissemination. That’s why it doesn’t concern only official discos. The awareness of its fields of application provides soft skills (e.g. endurance also in ephemeral queries), inclusion, new enhanced realities. These ranges of application are already available in libraries. They need to be enforced according to the local needs and demographic contexts. This issue refers to some challenges – very few indeed if compared to the already really feasible possibilities in libraries – to enhance audio assets and, on the other side, to pay attention to the deaf, a target that still remains silent for librarians too.
