Abstract

This paper examines the key role that archives can play and currently, in many cases, already do play, in the knowledge construction process, especially in relation to mediation and participation. Drawing a direct link between pedagogy and economics necessarily implies taking a clear cultural and civic stance. If we view archives as one of the direct sources of knowledge, giving access to the heritage they contain means extending to all the right to enjoy culture, to construct theories that are supported by the sources, and to develop personal and collective trajectories of inquiry.
