Un primo incontro su “Biblioteche e Health Humanities”
English abstract
Libraries are taking on a key role in promoting the Health Humanities, an interdisciplinary field that combines the arts, humanities and medicine, and the mental and physical well-being of citizens. In addition to places that preserve knowledge, libraries can be spaces of prevention and inclusion, contributing to a bio-psycho-social vision of health. The conference “Libraries and Health Humanities: an alliance for health” (Rome, ISS, Dec. 5, 2024) explored this transformation, laying the groundwork for new alliances between libraries, health care and culture, emphasizing, among other things, the need for new professional skills to strengthen the contribution of libraries in promoting public health.
