“Preoccupato per la tesi di laurea?”

Michele Pola

Abstract

This article describes the information literacy (IL) project “Worried about the thesis dissertation?” that has been run for four years by the scientific-technologic library of the engineering department of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The articles explains the reasons behind the evolution and the conclusion of the project as the origin of its follow up project “Search and dissertations Office” started in 2016, that is the current advanced reference service of the library. The project started during 2010/2011 and finished during 2013/2014 academic years. The format was group lessons, one to one and a half hour long. The article sums up the statistics of the experience, in comparison with the engineering students attendance and graduating, and how the ongoing changes of the lesson content based on the students feedback have been the seeds for the current “Search and dissertations Office”.
