Abstract

The article illustrates the importance and the role that Community Planning methods can play in defining innovative functional program of public libraries, also reporting the experience of the project of a branch library to be built in the Lorenteggio district of Milan. In fact, the author has drawn up the project guidelines of this library, starting from the local community consultation work (carried out by ABCittà). The focus of the article is the idea that it would be useful to move from designing public libraries for the users to design public libraries together with the users.
