Quindici anni della Sezione Information Literacy di IFLA

Abstract

The story of the IFLA Information Literacy Section, starting with the last activities of the Round Table of User Education and going through the most relevant phases of the last 15 years, is described. It analyses the evolution of the strategy and actions of the Commission, the most relevant statements and documents produced, the activities for fulfilling the mission of “fostering international cooperation in the development of information literacy education in all types of libraries and information institutions”. It also refers to the Italian Library Association, that is represented in the Information Literacy Commission, and its action to support Italian librarians with information literacy activities.
