Abstract

ILL service between academic and public libraries in Bologna is part of a broader project started on June 2013: it aimed to share a new vision – as several access points to information and cultural heritage – among the libraries regardless the institutional membership. After a first step, launched in October 2014 with a free of charge ILL between all the public libraries, the following year two important neighboring towns libraries (Casalecchio di Reno and San Lazzaro di Savena) joined the program. Then in 2016, after a preliminary analysis in order to plan the new service with the greatest benefit and the least difficulty, a ten-month trial had been launched for the academic libraries too. We have analyzed some data related to the project and some of the issues and solutions applied.
