Citizen science, open science e digital humanities: relazioni e contaminazioni

Abstract

Citizen Science (CS) is an innovative methodology in scholarly communication. Researchers are becoming more and more interested in it as it offers them the opportunity to connect their research to society. CS is also growing in the humanities. This trend can be identified under the umbrella termof “citizen humanities.” The author discusses opportunities and challenges of applying CS to the humanities. Citizen humanities might also have an impact on library priorities as it represents an opportunity to exploit their collections and to reach out to new publics.
