Abstract

Metadata is changing. In order to help the library community understand the impact these changes can have and what it means for them, OCLC has been facilitating conversations with metadata specialists and leaders in the field. This article reports back on some of the conversations that took place as part of the series of round table discussions in early 2021. It highlights the emerging European and global landscape of next generation metadata and the coordinated and collaborative approaches that were identified as driving this transition.
