Abstract

Open Science involves a profound transformation of doing research that has an impact on libraries and data librarians. Through documentation and literature analysis, the article focuses on the profile of the data librarian described as state of the art in Europe and Italy. Despite the delay of national policies, the profile of the data librarian in Italy is growing, acquiring awareness of the importance of the role through pioneering experiences of research support services.
