Abstract

The Biblioteca della Camera dei Deputati is an institution that has been within Italian institutions for 170 years. Its history, traced in a masterly way by Fernando Venturini, allows us to better understand what the Camera dei Deputati itself was, the Members who represented the Italian people during the Kingdom of Italy and the Italian Republic and more generally our country, at least our “legal country”. The protagonists of this history were the directors of the Library and some Members who were particularly interested in it, but also all the Members who wanted, supported and, in many cases, ignored it. Venturini reconstructs an history without a conclusion. The Biblioteca della Camera is a vital organization that, as all other libraries, is going to create its possible future.
